Position paper on the international recruitment of health professionals (Deutsche Plattform für Globale Gesundheit)

For the Deutsche Plattform für Globale Gesundheit (German Global Health Platform), Pillars of Health partner Verein demokratischer Ärztinnen (vdää) wrote a position paper on the international recruitment of health professionals in Germany, with recommendations for the German federal government.

These recommendations include, among others:

• that the German federal government should follow the guidelines of the WHO Code and adopt a sustainable national health personnel policy. Measures must be taken to increase the attractiveness of training and jobs in the health care professions and to help ensure that welltrained nursing professionals from Germany and abroad find future prospects here.
• that the German federal government should advocate for adequately financed, public welfare-oriented and needs-based health care systems in Germany and worldwide.
